Sarah Garland, Ph.D., brings a wide variety of statistical experience to the role of Director of Scientific Techniques and Analytics. Sarah’s expertise spans multiple areas of statistics, including statistical modeling, design and analysis of experiments, mathematical survey methods, simulations, and data science. Sarah has applied her statistical expertise in a variety of fields, including safety engineering, health statistics, and biostatistics.
Prior to coming to Fors Marsh Group, Sarah worked for over ten years for governmental agencies. Sarah worked at the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as a senior mathematical statistician and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) as a research mathematical statistician. Her work spanned across multiple areas of statistical methods for applications in public health and safety.
Sarah holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from the University of Memphis, where she also taught mathematics and statistics courses and completed a Ph.D. candidate internship in biostatistics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Additionally, Sarah has a Master of Science in mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Memphis.
